Volunteer at Distant Hill

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

A big THANK YOU to the team of volunteers from the Savings Bank of Walpole who helped remove roots and rocks from the route of a new section of accessible trail at Distant Hill.
A big THANK YOU to the team of volunteers from the Savings Bank of Walpole who helped remove roots and rocks from the route of a new section of accessible trail at Distant Hill.

Volunteers are Awesome!

There are dozens of ways for you to help at Distant Hill, from helping with the TerrainHopper Accessibility Project, weeding the gardens, organizing the plant nursery and transplanting seedlings, to helping build and maintain trails, installing deer cages around native plants in our woods, building or repairing play area elements, weeding the pollinator meadow, assisting with planning and organizing   events and programs, and coordinating our team of volunteers - the list goes on!

If you’re interested in helping, please click on the button below, and fill out and submit the Volunteer at Distant Hill form. Someone will contact you shortly to discuss how you can join the team.

Volunteers helped protect our small population of wood lilies (Lilium philadelphicum) growing on our powerline corridor by removing the invasive glossy buckthorn beginning to shade the lilies.
